10,600 participants in “Kataba” summer camp

The “Library”, affiliated to the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, concluded the activities of its summer program for the year 2022, which witnessed a large turnout of participants from various sections of society in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, especially young people and children.

“Mataba” revealed a record growth in the number of participants in this year’s activities by about 98% compared to last year when the total number of participants reached 10,600 participants, compared to 5350 during the summer camp activities 2021. This year’s session of the program saw a increase in the number of technical, educational and educational programs, to reach 453 activities and various activities, compared to 235 activities during the summer camp activities last year.

Sheikha Al Muhairi, Director of the Library Department at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said: “The large and effective turnout seen at this year’s summer camp confirms the popularity of the library’s initiatives and outreach programs aimed at promoting the spirit in leadership and innovation among children and young people.”

She added: “The diversity of the programs and their combination of educational and entertainment aspects contributed to the success of the program in achieving its objective of providing interest and knowledge to participants during the summer holidays.” To be truly the wealth of the nation and our bet on its bright future.

In its summer program this year, “Mataba” again hosted the Summer Reading Challenge, which motivates children to maintain their cognitive system.

The program also witnessed the organization of interactive activities, workshops and lectures to enrich the summer vacation of the students, refine their talents, develop their personalities and build their repertoire of knowledge and practical experience.

The camp program presented a series of workshops in leadership and management science, run by a group of specialists in the field, in addition to workshops to help the participating children navigate the world of social media in a safe and fruitful way. Alongside these various events and activities, Maktaba summer camp presented a series of educational lectures that showcased inspiring life experiences, interactive reading workshops and a series of activities aimed at talented people.
