814 school buses manufactured in the country join Emirates Transport

Emirates Transport, the largest provider of school transport in the United Arab Emirates, has announced; On the purchase of 814 new school buses made in the country.

Emirates Transport praised its partnership with “Suwaidan Trading” and “Ashok Leyland” during a ceremony organized last Tuesday evening to celebrate the purchase agreement at the Meydan Hotel in Dubai.

The ceremony was attended by Swaidan Saeed Juma Al Naboodah, CEO of Al Naboodah Group, Dheeraj Hinduja, CEO of Ashok Leyland, Khaled Al Mansour, CEO of Emirates Transport, and Feryal Tawakkul, Acting CEO of Emirates Transport.

The ceremony follows the delivery of nearly 700 Ashok Leyland buses by Swaidan Trading Company from Al Naboodah Group Enterprises, of which 490 have already been integrated into Emirates Transport’s school transport fleet, with the final batch to be delivered by the end of the agreement. This September.

Khaled Al-Mansour reiterated the added value such partnerships add not only to the company’s school transport, but also to the general education system in the UAE.

He added: With the start of the school year, the company’s workforce spread out on board its fleet of school buses to provide school transport services professionally and skillfully, and their efforts add to the many previous and continuous efforts made behind the scenes to make school transport safe and modern.

On the other hand, Feryal Tawakkul highlighted the value and importance of the strategic partnership between the three companies, which goes back many years, and emphasized the importance of the current agreement for the local economy.

She said: All 814 buses were made in the country and so Emirates Transport is proud to strengthen such relationships which contribute to the “Made in the Emirates” initiative and the UAE economy in general.

Tawakkol added: The agreement crowns a long history of successful partnership between Emirates Transport, Swaidan Trading Company and Ashok Leyland, a strategic partnership that has helped Emirates Transport deliver the highest standards in school transport over the years.
