The Committee of the International Center for Translation and Poetry Research in China voted by majority to award the Emirati poet Adel Khuzam the Best International Poet Award for 2021 for his clear contribution to strengthening the presence of poetry in the world through the ontology ( World Poetry Tree ), which he launched on the sidelines of the “Expo Dubai 2020” exhibition, with the participation of 405 poets from the world’s leading poets from more than 100 countries, including 13 Chinese poets who participated in their lyrics on the themes of love, hope and peace. Khuzam believed that modern Emirati poetry is capable of achieving more achievements at the global level and that Emirati poetry carries a lot of artistic maturity, which qualifies it to reap more qualitative achievements, both Arab and international.
Adel Khuzam belongs to the generation of modernity in the UAE, who wrote the Arabic prose poem, and founded it together with a group of poets in the early eighties of the last century. He has previously published around 17 books, and won a number of Arabic and international literary awards.
