Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed the week ended Thursday, 9 August in the green, backed by the banks and energy sectors.
The general index gained 1.26% or 60.61 points to close at 4,872.03 points.
Turnover amounted to AED 725 million during the week after 177.43 million shares were exchanged through 4,656 transactions.
The ADX’s market capitalisation stood at AED 486.655 billion.
The banks sector helped boost the general index, after adding 2.70% on the back of First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), which grew 3.70%.
The energy sector increased 2.83% after Dana Gas jumped 5.56%, while Abu Dhabi National Energy “TAQA” added 1.69%, while the investment sector increased 2.57%.
On the negative side, the real estate ended the week in the red and dropped 4.97%, weighed by Aldar Properties which retreated 5.39%. The telecommunications sector and its stock Etisalat decreased 0.59% each.
