DUBAI, 1st April, 2022 (WAM) — Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, met with Ander Gil García, President of the Spanish Senate, who is currently visiting the UAE.
During the meeting, Al Jarwan and Garcia discussed ways of enhancing the cooperation between the council, including the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP), and the Spanish Senate, to support the efforts to promote tolerance and peace worldwide.
Al Jarwan also briefed Garcia about the council’s activities, including the IPTP’s 9th session, which was held at the headquarters of the Federal National Council (FNC) and attended by over 60 parliamentarians.
Al Jarwan then highlighted the council’s efforts to spread the values of tolerance and peace worldwide, and its initiatives and projects in various countries aimed at promoting coexistence and tolerance while extending his appreciation for Spain and its institutions for supporting global security, stability, tolerance and peace.
García highlighted the role of the Spanish Senate in supporting international peace and commended the council’s efforts to promote the culture of tolerance, peace and coexistence.
He also thanked Al Jarwan for his keenness to establish partnerships with the Spanish Senate and other state institutions in Spain.
At the end of the meeting, Al Jarwan presented García with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Medal.
