The Municipality and Planning Department of Ajman has announced the continuation of work on the Al Ittihad Street development project, whose completion rate has reached 10% since the beginning of development work last July, to include the construction of a bridge on Al Ittihad Street consisting of three lanes for vehicles coming from Dubai towards the Sheikh Khalifa intersection With the provision of a traffic signal at the intersection of Al Ittihad Street and Kuwait Street under the bridges, in addition to the construction of a bridge for those coming from Al Hassan Bin Al Haitham Street, heading outside the emirate from Ajman Industrial Area towards the Emirate of Sharjah, in line with the strategic objective of developing an integrated infrastructure and improving the interconnection between elements of infrastructure and residential communities.
In this regard, the department clarified that the alternative diversion on Al Ittihad Street contributed to smooth traffic flow and avoided round-the-clock congestion, and urged residents and visitors to the emirate to follow the directional signs and use the diversion that was designed. in accordance with the highest standards of international specifications and traffic volume requirements, to achieve traffic safety and not to conflict with execution works for the project and to achieve high operational efficiency, as the diversion includes five lanes coming from the Emirate of Sharjah towards Sheikh Khalifa Junction , in addition to two lanes towards the Al Nuaimiya area.
Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Municipality and Planning Department, for his part, inspected the progress of work on the Al Ittihad Street development project, which will be fully completed by October next year, and explained that the project falls under the second package of the initiative of His His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, a member of the Council. The Supreme Ruler of Ajman to develop the Emirate’s infrastructure.
He emphasized that the wise leadership of the emirate has paid remarkable attention to the lively street which witnesses constant movement around the clock and is a link between the regions of the emirate and other emirates, thus the project costing 71 million and 600,000 dirhams, will aim to provide the necessary expansion that is consistent with the scope of use, as qualified competences worked to study the current situation on the street, and determine all the necessary requirements to reach the stage of preparing the design for the project, which ensures a better level of service for road users.

Abdullah Mustafa Al-Marzouqi, director of the road and infrastructure department of the department, for his part, gave an explanation about the project and its objectives, explaining that the project will include entrances on both sides of the road to achieve traffic safety requirements, in addition to providing a rainwater drainage network , and organize infrastructure services in the project area.
He explained that the expansion of the project covers the borders of the Emirate of Ajman at the Wasit station until the intersection of the Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, noting that the project contributes to serving the infrastructure projects implemented in the emirate, including the development of Al . Nuaimiya area, and improving the entrances to the emirate being developed in the Al Tallah area on Sheikh Mohammed bin Street Zayed. The project also serves the future development of Al Ittihad Street.
