Abu Dhabi City Municipality has launched an initiative to preserve trees that are removed from areas where development projects are being carried out that require the relocation of some trees to complete the work.
The municipality encouraged farm owners who want to transfer trees to their farms and benefit from them to communicate with the municipality and register their desire to preserve the trees, especially as the largest percentage of them are considered perennial trees and their preservation is considered to protect the environment and promote sustainability and biodiversity. The initiative is an expression of the municipality’s commitment to preserving the environment, achieving sustainability standards, developing green cover, improving the climate and motivating the community to plant trees and green areas.
The municipality of Abu Dhabi City continuously seeks to develop service and recreational facilities in accordance with the urban and cultural renaissance that Abu Dhabi benefits from, in order to provide the best services that contribute to the enjoyment of all members of the community.
As part of its awareness-raising programs to protect trees and plants, the municipality has recently installed 40 scan codes on trees and plants planted along the Abu Dhabi Corniche. The installation of these symbols aims to introduce public facilities visitors to plants and trees planted in Abu Dhabi Corniche gardens and to spread cultural awareness of the importance of vegetation as an aesthetic and environmental part of the city of Abu Dhabi, within the framework of The commitment of Abu Dhabi City Municipality and its constant efforts to improve the ways and standards of quality of life and happiness for all members of the local community, and to provide integrated recreational facilities with civilized services.
