Brazil is to promote its focus on sustainable development and renewable energy to a global audience, after confirming its participation at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Brazil is pursuing a sustainable development agenda and is expected to become the world’s fifth largest economy by the year 2050. Foreign investment will play a crucial role if Brazil is to achieve this milestone, with the country ranked sixth globally for foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows, amounting to USD84.4 billion for the period February 2016 to February 2017.

Expo 2020 Dubai is expected to offer Brazil the opportunity to boost FDI by providing the country with a global stage on which to showcase its highly diversified economy; one that includes Latin America’s largest aerospace, automobile, automotive, oil and gas, mining, capital goods, medical equipment and chemical industries. Brazil’s commitment to sustainable development is directly linked to tackling climate change and conserving the country’s rainforests and biodiversity.
