There’s no better place to mark the Eid Al Adha festival – which marks the end of Hajj season – than right here in Dubai, with a line-up of entertainment sure to satisfy every member of the family, from games in the mall to international singing performances, and night skies filled with fantastic fireworks.

Balqees Live in Concert


Singer Balqees Fathi will be showcasing her musical talents in a free concert at the Dragon Mart 2 retail complex as part of city-wide Eid Al Adha celebrations on 24 August. The 29-year-old singer is much-loved across the region, and sang at the first-ever female-only concert in Saudi Arabia last November. She has also performed alongside one of the world’s most popular living tenor singers, Italian Andrea Bocelli in Abu Dhabi. The songstress is sure to mesmerise audiences with hits ‘Ya Hawa’ and ‘Majnoun’. Find out more here.

Morissette is MADE


Just before the Eid Al Adha celebrations, you can hear “Asia’s phoenix”, 22-year-old Filipina singer Morissette performing her “Morissette is MADE” concert at the Dubai World Trade Centre on 17 August. Fans can also enjoy a performance by fellow Filipino singer, dancer, actor and host Sam Concepcion. Find out more here.

A festival of fireworks


Look to the night sky all over the city during Eid Al Adha and you are sure to see fireworks. Our recommendations for some of the best spots to catch the dazzling action include Festival Bay at Festival City Mall, where there’s a twice-nightly music and fireworks extravaganza. You can take in the spectacle from the comfort of any of the waterside restaurants.

Family-friendly leisure and retail destinations La Mer, The Beach and Al Seef are also planning some firework fun, with shows that will dazzle shoppers and diners alike, over three nights. Share memories with Sheibitna


The Dubai Mall is hosting exciting activities and live entertainment for the whole family. The star of the Eid Al Adha activities is Sheibitna, a much-loved grandfatherly figure from Arabian folklore who will be storytelling and sharing his wisdom. Kids can i participate in arts and crafts activities and receive special Eidiya gifts. There are also cartoons and the chance to transport to a different world at the VR (virtual reality) park. Join Iftah Ya Simsim for Eid quiz fun


The loveable puppets of kid’s TV show ‘Iftah Ya Simsim’ are performing an outer space-themed live quiz show during Eid Al Adha at Dragon Mart 2. Both educational and fun, there will be dance numbers and singalong songs that kids of all ages can join. Find out more here.

Meet Baby Shark


Pinkfong’s adorable singing cartoon character Baby Shark will be meeting and greeting toddlers and preschoolers at Dubai Festival City Mall on 24-25 August. With all the favourite songs and dance routines, your little ones can journey with the Prince to find fruits for his friend, Baby Shark. There will be two 40 minute shows each day, and two 30 minute meet and greet sessions on a first-come, first-served basis. Find out more here.

Head into Space


Ibn Battuta Mall is taking things out of this world with an interactive space exploration exhibition, in conjunction with the Discovery Channel. The event runs from the first day of Eid until 9 September. Meanwhile, Al Seef, the creekside leisure zone, is offering an Eid packed with entertainment for the kids – and the kid in all of us adults – with live roaming entertainment, workshops, kids’ dance sessions and life-sized board games between 22 and 24 August.
