Cosentino announces collaboration with Studio Meshary AlNassar for Dubai Design Week 2020

A reimagined version of the ancient Persian paradise gardens is coming to Dubai Design District (d3) as part of Dubai Design Week 2020.

Kuwait-based Studio Meshary AlNassar is collaborating with global surfaces brand Cosentino to present ‘Pardis’ at the annual art event.

Yet to be revealed, the garden will be constructed entirely out of Cosentino’s ultra-compact engineered surface Dekton.

Its minimalist design embraces the versatile surface as flooring, freestanding walls and seating and uses abstract representations of water and to create a calm and tastefully landscaped desert garden that comes alive with lighting at night.

Persian gardens (also called paradise gardens) date back to 4000 BCE and usually take a rectangular form consisting of four quarters of trees and flowers, streams and pathways, ponds and fountains and usually a central pavilion.

This modern-day paradise will be a place to work, relax or recharge.

An integral part of Design Week, Downtown Design returns for 2020 with revised programming that will take place at the festival’s main hub in Dubai Design District (d3) and in locations across the city from November 9-14 2020.

This fresh hybrid format includes a conceptual exhibition ‘The Shape of Things to Come’, a digital fair, an online talks programme and the traditional physical brand experiences.

Running alongside it all will be Dubai’s first RIBA festival of architecture. d3 Architecture Festival is to be held with support from the Royal Institute of British Architects Gulf Chapter (RIBA Gulf Chapter).
