Sharjah, 24 July/WAM/ The Sharjah Sports Council and the Arab Sports Culture Federation announced the details of the Arab Sports Cultural Forum, which will be hosted by the city of Kalba in the first week of next November, in conjunction with the Sharjah Book Fair and the Kalba Beach Games.
This happened during a press conference organized by the council yesterday in the city of Khorfakkan to reveal the details of the meeting of the board of the Arab Sports Culture Award, which is visiting Sharjah and the Arab Sports Cultural Forum and a series of events, activities, dates and implementation locations.
The conference was attended by His Excellency Abdul Malik Mohammed Jani, Deputy Chairman of the Council, His Excellency Ashraf Mahmoud, Chairman of the Arab Federation for Sports Culture, and a number of officials from both sides as well as representatives of government departments, clubs and the media.
His Excellency Abdul Malik Jani thanked the delegation of the board of the Arab Sports Culture Award for the visit and pointed out that the upcoming joint events that will be held in the emirate and represent a wonderful Arab sports gathering under the umbrella of the emirate and the Sports Council have been coordinated.
He praised the Arab Federation’s interest in promoting Arab sports culture and pointed to the emirate’s winning of the Arab Sports Culture Award for 2022, which came within the framework of Sharjah’s keenness on sports, culture and people, noting that the events agreed on November next year will be a real addition and a new enrichment for the emirate.
On his part, Ashraf Mahmoud, Chairman of the Arab Federation for Sports Culture and Chairman of the Award’s Board of Directors, praised the emirate’s great excellence at all levels thanks to the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Councilor and Ruler of Sharjah, and the Sharjah Sports Council’s efforts to take care of sports and connect it with culture. The Sharjah Award in its first edition is a true culmination of the efforts made.
He conveyed the thanks and appreciation of all members of the delegation for the great hospitality on the sidelines of the visit to the emirate and noted that the Arab Federation for Arab Sports Culture will work in full coordination with the Council to excel more in the future aspects between the two parties and the upcoming events.
It is noteworthy that the visiting delegation visited the city of Khorfakkan, the “bride of the eastern coast”, to see the most prominent landmarks, including the Lounge of the Clouds, the Rabbi’s Tower, the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre, the Resistance Monument and concluded with an invitation to dinner and an exchange of shields.
