DUBAI, August 5 / WAM / Dubai Chambers has announced a change in its senior management with the departure of His Excellency Hamad Mubarak Buamim from his position as General Manager of Chambers after 16 years of exceptional service.
Buamim will continue to support Dubai Chambers for the next three months, noting that Hassan Al Hashimi, Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, has been assigned the duties of the Acting General Manager.
His Excellency Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, praised the crucial role Buamim played in the growth and development of Dubai Chambers and his distinguished contribution to consolidating Dubai’s position as a strategic center for global trade.
In this regard, His Excellency said: “Buamim took the responsibility of his position fully and achieved many distinguished achievements that had a great impact on the growth of the company and stimulated innovation through the work of the Foundation. We thank him for his great efforts to raise the status of Dubai Chambers and transform the emirate into a major center business in the region and the world.
He added: “Buamim’s outstanding achievements have played a key role in the continuation of Dubai Chambers’ success and a significant contribution to achieving the vision of our wise leadership in promoting international trade, raising the level of local businesses and accelerating the transition to the digital economy . We wish Buamim every success in his future endeavors and are honored by his continued support of Chambers Dubai”.
His Excellency Hamad Buamim, on his part, said: “Dubai Chambers today serves more than 320,000 members who conduct their business across a wide range of economic sectors, thanks to the steadfast support of our astute management and the sound guidance of Dubai Chambers Board of Directors, and with my move to pursue new interests in many of the advisory and non-executive positions, I thank the management and staff of Dubai Chambers for their dedication and commitment to achieving exceptional growth and expanding our geographic presence.”
During his tenure as General Department of Dubai Chambers, Buamim managed to increase the number of Chamber members by more than 4 times from 80,000 to more than 320,000 members, making the Dubai Chamber one of the top 10 chambers of commerce in the world and the largest. member organization in the Middle East and Africa region. Buamim launched 12 international offices and strengthened Dubai Chamber’s focus on new markets, including Latin America and ASEAN countries.
Buamim also played an important role in opening the horizon of partnership with African countries and consolidating Dubai’s position as a global gateway to Africa. He also established the Dubai Center for Economic and Professional Entities and attracted more than 80 international bodies. He also established the Center for Business Ethics, the first organization in Dubai to focus on corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Under the leadership of Buamim, Dubai Chambers won many awards within the Dubai Government Excellence Program for the best performing institutions in terms of customer satisfaction/delight. He was elected president of the World Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the International Chamber of Commerce, and his holding of this position helped to strengthen Dubai’s leading position in leading the activity of chambers of commerce worldwide.
