ABU DHABI, 17 June / WAM / The United Arab Emirates today sent a 27-tonne food and medical supplies plane to support Ukrainian refugees in the Republic of Poland, as part of continued UAE relief efforts to help alleviate the humanitarian consequences of the displaced Ukrainians and refugees.
His Excellency Salem Ahmed Al Kaabi, the country’s Ambassador to the Republic of Ukraine, reaffirmed the UAE’s eagerness to participate in providing humanitarian relief and the necessary support and assistance to Ukrainian refugees based on the approach and humanitarian solidarity and commitment to the values and principles established by the wise leadership and within the framework of the UAE Government and the approach of the people by supporting all the peoples of the world, standing by its side in overcoming its humanitarian crises and alleviating its suffering.
It is worth noting that since the outbreak of the Ukrainian crisis, the United Arab Emirates has sent 6 planes to Poland and Moldova with 156 tons of food and medical care and ambulances, as part of their announcement of a donation of 18.3 million dirhams / 5 million US dollars / in response to the UN’s urgent appeal. And the regional response plan for Ukraine’s refugees. The International City of Humanitarian Services in Dubai, in cooperation with international organizations in the city, sent 124 tons, including relief supplies and shelter equipment.
