ABU DHABI, August 20 / WAM / The jury of the Al-Mankoos program in its third season is preparing to begin evaluating the works of the contestants who apply for the program, which is the first of its kind in the Arab world and is specialized in the melody of Mankoos, one of the melodies of Nabati poetry, after the end of the registration period, which lasted until yesterday.

The program’s jury, made up of experts in the field of Nabati poetry and its melody, especially the melody of al-Manqous, will select the best participants among the candidates according to precise technical and critical criteria, including the aesthetics of the program. the voice and performance method “mastering the melody”, choice of melody, length of breath and participant’s familiarity with the melody of al-Manqous.

The jury includes the critic and academic Dr. Hammoud Jalawi, a faculty member in the Arabic language department of the College of Basic Education in the State of Kuwait, the system poet and interviewer Muhammad bin Mushait al-Marri from the United Arab Emirates, and the system and dialogue poet and vocalist Shaya Faris al-Ayafi from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The jury confirmed that the selection of the best entries, the evaluation of the works participating in the performance of “Lan Al-Mankos” and the conduct of interviews are carried out according to specific criteria and conditions, leading to the selection of the final list of those who will participate in the two recording episodes that precede the eight live episodes, where 18 artists from the stars of “Al-Mankoos” will compete. Winner of the title “Knight of the Fallen”.

The launch of the Al Mankoos program falls within the guidelines and objectives of the Abu Dhabi Festivals and Cultural and Heritage Programs Committee and its continued eagerness to introduce the popular heritage and strengthen its role in building the national identity as Al Mankos is considered a of Emirati and Gulf heritage to sing Nabati poetry.

The program aims to revive the old and build communication bridges between the old generation and the younger generation, preserve the Emirati heritage and register it as a stable cultural platform from which to move towards the world and achieve the greatest possible amount of communication with the Gulf and the Arab audience.

In its second season, the Al Mankoos program recorded intense competitions between the program’s 18 stars who competed live in stages spanning 8 nights broadcast from the Al Raha Beach Theater in Abu Dhabi, where the treasures and heritage were inherited from parents and grandparents in the Emirates and the Arabian Gulf were highlighted.
