Close your YouTube make-up tutorial immediately. Beauty Pop is returning to Dubai in an attempt to satisfy our cravings for skin, hair and make-up knowledge (we’re never full). Expect hair masterclasses from the Kardashian-Jenner-loved Jen Atkin – the world is still obsessed with her cool-girl haircare line OUAI – and absorb top tips from celebrity make-up artist Mary Phillips, who has Chrissy Teigen and J-Lo on speed dial. Plus, the region’s biggest beauty event will host Margot Robbie’s right-hand woman Tracey Cunningham, and Justine Marjan, whose client list ranges from Nicole Scherzinger to Olivia Culpo, to ensure mane addicts get their fix. We predict the festival, held at Dubai Design District from 19-21 April, will provide plenty of beauty product inspiration for our add-to-basket wish list. In the meantime, some of the industry’s biggest stars reveal how to achieve celebrity complexion perfection…

Justine Marjan

Dividing her time between New York and Los Angeles, Justine is a trusted celebrity hairstylist for former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and US beauty queen Olivia Culpo. Swoon.

Her first pearl of wisdom? “Use a hair mask weekly for added shine and hydration. My go-to DIY formula is made by mixing together 1 tbsp of coconut oil with 1 tsp honey. Apply the mask to dry hair for at least 20 minutes, then carry on with shampooing and conditioning as normal,” Justine says. Next? “Sleep on The Hollywood Silk Solutions Silk Pillowcase to prevent frizz, breakage, and sleep crease.”

And the star leaves us with this: “Eat Olly Undeniable Beauty Gummy vitamins so hair grows in thicker and healthier.” On it.

Mary Phillips

To get her clients red-carpet ready, the LA-based makeup artist never skips primer – and here’s why: “A primer underneath your foundation helps put a barrier between oil and foundation, which helps to keep it in place,” she explains.
Next, it’s all about dewy skin. “Let the humidity be your friend. Just use a light powder to blot in the areas where you don’t want shine, like the T-zone. I love the new La Mer The Sheer Pressed Powder in Translucent,” the beautifier gushes. And here’s how to avoid make-up slips in the Middle East’s summer heat: “Keep your make-up light and fresh, that way if you are sweating you don’t end up with streaks or lines. Try the La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation. It’s light and fresh but still stays all day!” Noted.

Tracey Cunningham

Redken’s Celebrity Colourist is the leading lady for Margot Robbie’s dimensional blonde which had the world mesmorised during her awards-season red-carpet domination. To fight the frizz (it happens), Tracey urges women to use Keratin complex shampoo and conditioner, as it strengthens locks. The hair guru, who has also worked with Kim and Khloé Kardashian, admits which product she vows by for giving hair some oomph: “Alterna Bamboo Boho Waves texture hair mist is great – it doesn’t weigh hair down and adds a little wave and body,” Tracey muses. A final tip comes in the form of the legendary ’90s crimping iron – but don’t go OTT. “A mini crimping iron just used at the root of the hair to add a little volume without too much product – your hair falls smooth but has the volume. It’s a good trick.” Who knew?

Jen Atkin

She’s never far from a Kardashian thanks to her incredibly creative styling talent. Now, with 2.3 million followers on social media, Grazia discovers Jen’s current obsession – and it’s not a beauty product. “OUAI Hair Supplements – I strongly believe that skin and hair health start from within,” she reveals. “And using the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair type is key. Don’t be afraid to use a different shampoo on your root and a different one for your ends.” And the influential hair stylist leaves us with this: “Use a heat protectant before using hot tools, I love OUAI Memory Mist.” If it’s good enough for Kim…
