GPSSA’s Board of Directors holds second meeting in 2022

ABU DHABI, 18th May, 2022 (WAM) — Mohamed Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA), chaired a Board meeting on Tuesday.

The Board discussed the agenda for the day and approved the minutes of the previous meeting, as well as reviewing the measures taken by GPSSA’s management regarding implementation of decisions, suggestions and recommendations. The Director General’s report on the work of the three main sectors in the pension authority – the investment, pension and the support services sectors – were also discussed and reviewed.

In April 2022, GPSSA has witnessed an increase in the number of employers registered, who have now reached 7,405 compared to 6,954 in April of 2021, and a surge in the number of contributors who now total to 87,665 compared to 85,736 for the same period last year.

Statistics also show an increase in the number of pensioners to 26,381 compared to 25,023 in April 2021. The number of beneficiaries rose to 18,311 in April 2022 compared to 17,047 in April 2021.

The insurance expenditures for the insured, pensioners and beneficiaries with GPSSA, totaled to AED368,041,628 in April 2022, compared to AED320,481,800 for the same period in 2021.
