Hamdan Education concludes “I am an innovator”

The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance recently concluded the “Innovation Event 2022”, which was held from the eighth to the eleventh of August under the title “I am an innovator”, in collaboration with the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation.
This event, attended by 80 trainees, aimed to teach the students of orphan students of various age groups the basics of digital production and innovation, in addition to the future of these technologies and the projects being worked on, which witnessed many training workshops focusing on innovative projects that can be used in life. The day covered many areas such as 2D design, programming, 3D printing, electronics and other various areas of digital fabrication.
Dr. Jamal Al Muhairi, Vice Chairman of the Board and Secretary General of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance, said: “The innovation event, organized by the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance in partnership with the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, comes within as part of the Foundation’s objective of encouraging innovation by providing training programs for male and female students to hone their skills, provide them with knowledge, spread the culture of digital fabrication and innovation among the community members, learn various digital fabrication methods, design and manufacture various innovative projects and keep pace with rapid technological developments. Such programs also contribute to improving ways of collaborating with institutions to help improve the quality of education and strengthen talent and innovation.”
Dr. Al Muhairi added: “We extend our thanks and appreciation to the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, all the participating and supporting bodies, the trainers and everyone who contributed to the success of the innovation event and the achievement of its goals.”
The participants of the innovation event were able to learn many skills to help them understand how these technologies work and how they can harness them and apply them in their daily lives. 80 trainees in the age groups from 9 to 17 participated in the event.
During the innovation event, four training workshops were held, including the self-watering plant pot workshop, which represents one of the most important projects that plants need and is characterized by the ease of use in self-watering plants when needed. was designed and manufactured using a 3D printer. During the industrial robot workshop, participants learned about industrial robots, their main components and how to program them. The objective of this workshop was to qualify and familiarize the students with the advanced technology used in modern industries in many fields such as car factories and others.
The laser cutting technology product manufacturing workshop also provided a suitable opportunity for the participants to learn the laser manufacturing technology and the key fundamentals and skills that trainees need to understand this technology while designing and manufacturing miniature products.
