Lawo is reporting that its IP-based broadcast production video, audio and control solutions were installed in a record number of TV and radio production facilities in the Middle East during 2019. The manufacturer credits several large orders received from private and public broadcasters in the UAE, including infrastructure projects for Bloomberg and MBC Al-Arabiya, audio production installs for Sharjah TV, and video equipment orders from DMI, with helping to set record sales in the region, as well as various projects in Bahrain and its neighbouring countries, such as OB truck projects, radio studio and MCR projects. In addition, Lawo is currently involved in several large-scale projects across Egypt, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
‘I think it is safe to say that Lawo is beginning to make a difference in the Middle East,’ said Klaus-Jörg Jasper, Lawo’s sales director for the region. ‘Both our audio products and our video and broadcast control solutions are in high demand. There is growing respect for our efforts to become a key technology partner for major international sports events like motorsports and world cups, and also music productions like the epoch-making Sunrise and Sunset sets of the British band Coldplay at Amman’s Citadel, Jordan, streamed live on YouTube to mark the release of the band’s new album, Everyday Life. A Lawo mc²56 mixing console processing 192 inputs was used for streaming and recording these events.’
Another example of Lawo’s ongoing work in the region is at Turkuvaz Media Group in Turkey, which has invested in Lawo solutions as part of a company-wide upgrade to an IP ecosystem for its new facility in Istanbul. This project is said to include a central Lawo router, a range of networked mc² mixing consoles, crystal radio consoles and V__matrix C100 processing blades.
