“Mazayna Al Marmoom” celebrates Dubai’s heritage treasures

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) celebrated the emirate’s distinguished heritage and the splendor of its authentic traditions in the second edition of “Mazayna Al Marmoum Al Rutb”, organized by the Women’s Renaissance Association – Al Lisaili Branch on January 25 as part of the “Heritage and heritage” initiative.

As part of its participation in the event, which was organized at Al-Khuzama Hall at the association’s headquarters in Al-Lisaili Division, “Dubai Culture” provided a heritage corner showcasing Emirati traditional crafts, allowing visitors to establish become more familiar with the details of these professions that were passed down through generations and preserved as an authentic part of the national identity and Emirati cultural heritage.

The participation also included traditional pieces presented by Emirati heritage scholar Salem Hilal, in addition to a section of heritage competitions to enhance visitors’ knowledge of the vocabulary of Emirati authenticity.

Dubai Culture stressed that the participation fell within the authority’s responsibility to celebrate Dubai’s cultural heritage treasures and its ancient past, and its commitment to preserve, protect and transmit it across generations and instill feelings of pride and national belonging in the hearts of community members, particularly the new generations. It also falls within its efforts to consolidate Al Marmoom’s position as a cultural destination rich in the vocabulary of Emirati cultural heritage.

The “Al Marmoum Dates” event is an annual agricultural, environmental, social and cultural heritage event organized by the Women’s Renaissance Association with the participation of a number of palm plantation owners in the Emirate of Dubai.
