Changes in visa regulations have boosted passenger traffic at Dubai World Central (DWC) by more than six per cent.

That’s according to the annual traffic report issued by Dubai Airports, which revealed that more than 900,000 people used the new airport last year.

Since last year, Russian tourists visiting the UAE can obtain visas on arrival, resulting in a large spike in visitors from Eastern Europe.

More than 279,000 Russians flew in to DWC in 2017, marking a staggering year-on-year increase of 955 per cent.
