SHARJAH, 12th August, 2022 (WAM) — Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler’s Office, on Thursday attended the annual honouring ceremony for outstanding Sudanese high school students and university graduates at the Culture Palace, which was organised by the Sudanese Social Centre in the Emirate of Sharjah.
Omar Ahmed Khojaly, head of the Sudanese community in Sharjah and director of the Sudanese Social Centre, delivered a speech in which he thanked and appreciated Sheikh Salem for sponsoring the centre’s annual ceremony.
The Counselor, Mortada Al-Zailai, Vice President of the Centre, then read the decision of the Executive Committee and the Sudanese community in the Emirate of Sharjah to choose the late Hamad Abdullah Hamad as the person of the year for 2022.
Sheikh Salem Al Qasimi honoured a number of Sudanese innovators in various professional fields and presented a memorial shield to the family of the late Hamad Abdullah Hamad in recognition of his pioneering role.
The ceremony was attended by Ahmed Abdel Rahman, Consul-General of the Republic of Sudan, and a number of heads and members of Sudanese club councils.
