Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Sharjah Charitable Society, led the formation of a higher committee to complete the support programs that the Society has started to provide to those affected by rain in the central region from the first moment of crisis.

Deputy Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, Mohammed Rashid bin Byat, confirmed the formation of a higher committee led by board member Dr. Yaqoub Ali Al-Naqbi, to assess and study the conditions of the affected families in the eastern region and neighboring emirates, and to provide the necessary assistance to them to ensure their return to their homes, in coordination with the competent government agencies. He explained, that the committee was entrusted to coordinate with the Department of Social Services and the Emergency Housing Committee of the Government of Sharjah so that support could be provided to the needy families registered in the association’s statements and those affected by torrential downpours.

He added that the committee is tasked with determining the needs of each family according to its circumstances and the number of members, which contributes to providing optimal and appropriate support that ensures family and housing stability for the beneficiaries, stressing that the association will contract with specialized companies to clean homes of the effects of damage and buy home furniture for families, in addition to coordinating with the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah to find out the needs of the affected mosques.
