As part of the Buro Fashion Forward Initiative in collaboration with e-marketplace Farfetch, the local brand wears a different hat for a pitch-inspired collection

Founded in 2014 to support promising fashion talent, the Buro Fashion Forward Initiative 2018 (BFFI) sees a Singapore label in its line-up for the very first time. In partnership with Farfetch, seven brands from countries Ukraine, China, Mexico, Brazil, Lebanon, Russia and Singapore were selected to design and produce a football-inspired kit in occasion of the 2018 World Cup and, to retail on the e-marketplace. They are Ienki Ienki, DANSHAN, Kris Goyri, À la Garçonne, Sandra Mansour, Jahnkoy and Biro Company respectively. 

Just before the competition fervour hits fever pitch with France and Croatia going head-to-head in the finals, we get our first glimpse of the three-piece capsule our local label has whipped up to the theme. In tribute to host country Russia, Biro designers Kenghow and Kage Chong worked with colours of the flag (blue, red and white) on a T-shirt, jacket and tailored trousers. In the signature pared-back style of the brand, the garments are quietly inflected with the sports-inspired by way of stripes and drawstrings.
