The United Arab Emirates topped the Arab world, ranking 34th globally on the “Freedom and Prosperity Index” issued by the Center for Freedom and Prosperity of the Atlantic Council, the prestigious American think tank.
The index monitors levels of wealth and prosperity in different countries of the world and also tracks the relationship between these levels on the one hand and the levels of various freedoms, especially economic freedoms in the countries of the world.
The United Arab Emirates scored 66.5 out of 100 in the “Freedom and Prosperity Index”, ranking first in the Arab world and 34th globally.
In the report attached to the results of the index, the Center for Freedom and Prosperity stated that the UAE leads among Arab countries towards prosperity as well as economic freedom.
The report added that the UAE is classified in terms of freedom within the “largely free” category, the highest rating among Arab countries, noting that this classification also led the UAE to Arab superiority in economic performance, which in turn led to its superiority in wealth and prosperity.
Switzerland ranked first in the world in terms of prosperity according to the index, which scored 97.1, Norway was second and Switzerland third.
