Visit the Korean traditional painting exhibition at Sorbonne University.
Art lovers can visit an exhibition of traditional Korean paintings organized by the UAE Korean Cultural Center and the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage in collaboration with the Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi.
The exhibition titled “Korean Traditional Paintings by Promising Painters” will be held at the Sorbonne University Atrium in Abu Dhabi from Wednesday, September 21st to Wednesday, October 28th.
The exhibition is one of the initiatives by the Korea Cultural Center to promote cultural exchanges between Korea and the UAE. There are 26 works on display, including 4 group works and 22 individual works. Thirty promising students and Professor Kwon Ji-eun from Korea National University of Cultural Heritage participated in the event.
According to the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage, most of the artworks brought to Abu Dhabi were painted for exhibitions, where the artists attempted to incorporate Arabic culture.
The artworks include the traditional polychrome lacquer paintings of Danqing and Falcon paintings performed on wooden buildings such as temples and palaces.
