TSO achieves type approval of its flexible panels for the Emirates Towers in Dubai

TSO, The South Oracle, closes the year 2018 with good news, the type approval by the DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) of its ultra-light flexible solar panels. It thus becomes the first company with a flexible panel within the Emirate of Dubai, where since October it has been working on the ambitious project of the architectural integration of a solar photovoltaic installation for self-consumption on the rooftop of the Emirates Towers parking lot.

Etihad ESCO, a public company created by DEWA to boost energy efficiency in this Emirati region, has relied on the experience of TSO for the design of the photovoltaic plant. Integrated into the canopies in the parking lot of the Emirates Towers it will supply solar energy to the Museum of the Future.

The Museum of the Future, currently under construction, and in which TSO will participate in the design and installation of an instant self-consumption solar power plant will be a unique space in the world for its design and innovation that will mark a turning point in the history of architecture.

The DEWA has already issued the works license so that the starting signal has been fired to commence in the next few days the installation works of this innovative photovoltaic plant integrated in the canopies of the Emirates Towers parking lot, an area where the Museum of the Future is located. This visual impact-free solar plant will generate an annual production of 282 MWh and will prevent the emission of some 170 tons of CO2 per year, which would be equivalent to a total of 9,400 trees.

Andalusian technology at the Emirates Towers

The project designed exclusively by TSO is an initiative of the public company Etihad ESCO, created in 2013 by the DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) to boost energy efficiency, towards 2020, in the Emirate of Dubai and make its capital the most sustainable in the world.

With this purpose, Etihad ESCO has opted for the innovation and experience of The South Oracle, TSO. TSO is a leading company in the global photovoltaic sector, and the architect of the first architectural integration in Europe on existing façade with PSFU (eArche®). This system has turned the façade of Tower 2 of the Torneo de Sevilla Business Park into a photovoltaic solar energy generator for the building self-consumption.
