Emaar Entertainment, the leisure and entertainment subsidiary of Emaar Properties, has revealed details of VR Park – an all-new Virtual Reality (VR) attraction that is set to transform the virtual reality entertainment scene in the UAE by providing an unprecedented range of games, rides and experiences to suit all ages.
Due to open in the first half of 2018 in The Dubai Mall, the new VR Park will bring together some of the world’s best VR developers to produce an unprecedented leisure and entertainment experience.
Combining Augmented Reality (AR), VR and experiential attractions, VR Park will blur the lines between perception and reality through game-changing experiences, spanning wholly immersive rides, educational journeys and interactive games – including a unique rollercoaster.
Set across two levels of the giant mall and focusing on the concept of ‘Shared Escapism’, many of the attractions will offer a multi-player experience – allowing visitors to interact with one another. VR Park has been specifically designed to offer something for everyone, with attractions appealing to all interests, across adrenalin, horror, leisure and more, as well as a PVRK Café.
The addition of VR Park to Emaar Entertainment’s portfolio of lifestyle and entertainment destinations follows Reel Cinema’s launch of the GCC region’s first cinematic digital customer journey in 2017, and subsequent new dine-in cinema concept launching in 2018, as the entity continues to redefine entertainment.
Damien Latham, Chief Executive Officer of Emaar Entertainment, said: “VR Park is the latest revolutionary experience to be delivered by Emaar Entertainment, as we continue to propel the leisure and entertainment (L&E) sector into the future and reinforce Dubai’s position as a pioneering entertainment destination. Our latest entertainment experiences are redefining the boundaries of innovation for the industry, and we look forward to unveiling VR Park and sharing the excitement with UAE residents and visitors alike.”
