The UAE’s night sky was lit up in the colours of Saudi Arabia on Friday in celebration of the country’s National Day.

Major landmarks in the UAE, including the Burj Khalifa, Yas Bay Waterfront and JBR Beach, are lit up in green and white, and UAE residents can take part in a grand fireworks display and retail festival.

The Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, commemorates the event with a spectacular LED light show. LED shows start at 7.15pm and run until 10.45pm every 30 minutes.

Every September 23rd is the kingdom’s 92nd National Day, and this year’s slogan is “This is our home”.

The occasion marked the decree of King Abdulaziz in 1932 renaming the Kingdom of Hejaz and Najd to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Yas Island in Abu Dhabi turns green in celebration of Saudi Arabia’s National Day.

Fireworks are part of the commemoration and can be seen from the Yas Bay waterfront.

As part of the festivities, Al Ain Zoo has organised various events and activities, including a 50% discount and free admission for the two-day Al Ain Safari Tour from September 23rd to 24th.
