Adding to Xiaomi’s popular Mi 9 series is the Mi 9T. It sports hardware features we don’t usually see at a Dh1,059 price tag. For instance, an in-screen fingerprint scanner or a triple-camera setup.

Unique curved glass design

The Mi 9T uses a nano-holographic technology for a unique flame design on its curved glass back. This in turn gives the device a comfortable hand-feel. On the front, the phone has a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen with no notch for a full screen experience. The fingerprint scanner is also found in the display.

The screen supports 256-scale eye protection technology and low-brightness grayscale optimisation. Similarly, it has also received low-blue light eye protection certification from Germany’s VDE Testing and Certification institute.

Processing power

Inside, the Mi 9T features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor. This delivers a 35 per cent and 10 per cent increase in CPU and GPU processing respectively over its predecessor. Additionally, it brings twice the AI performance. With Game Turbo 2.0, the phone is also optimised for touch response, sound quality and network when gaming. With the touch response rate going up to 180Hz and touch response reduced up to 70 milliseconds, the Mi 9T offers an e-sports-level gaming experience.

Camera features

Offering a triple camera suite, the Mi 9T comes with a 48MP Sony IMX 582 primary camera, a 124.8-degree 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens and an 8MP telephoto lens. In combination, these can capture more detail in low-light conditions and can deliver an SLR-like photography experience.

To see a triple camera setup at this price is impressive

Furthermore, the front sees a 20MP pop-up camera with a sapphire glass cover. It offers a panorama feature for group selfies and an additional hardware ring light on top to double as your notification LED.

NFC support and a 4,000mAh battery

With a 4,000mAh battery and an AI energy-saving mode, the Mi 9T can last through a day of heavy use. Aside from this, the phone also offers 18W charging, although there’s no support for wireless charging. There is room for multi-function NFC with transaction speeds increased by 30 per cent. And for audiophiles, the phone comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and Hi-Res Audio certification.
