Abu Dhabi: “The Bay”

The Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination has launched the initiative “Small steps towards a great journey” in collaboration with the Swiss company “Hokuma”, the world’s leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of sensor-based robotic devices to treat determined people and rehabilitate their motor functions.

The initiative “Small steps towards a big journey” is launched from Abu Dhabi, with determined people using “Locomat” devices, then continue the journey to Istanbul with the participation of determined people at Memorial Sisli Hospital, and then arrive in Zagreb in partnership with the Glavich Clinic, to end the trip in Zurich. Groups of rehabilitation patients continue to move in each city participating in the walking challenge by recording the average steps and distance traveled on the devices by encouraging determined people to participate in completing this journey between specified cities.

Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary General of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, said: “As part of our commitment to support the aspirations of people with determination to improve their physical abilities, the ‘Small Steps Towards a Great Journey’ initiative will witness to the participation of determined people from different countries by standing and walking and it will be the first time for some of them and it is very inspiring. .

For his part, Mitjahrepar, director of international sales at Hokuma, said: “Over the past 20 years, we have proudly partnered with leading institutions in the field of rehabilitation, delivering our advanced solutions to those who need them most.

“It is important to understand and explain the concept of ‘small steps towards a great journey,’” said Dr. Enginshakar, head of the Center for Physical Medicine and Robotic Rehabilitation at Memorial Hospital.
