‘11,000 lectures organized in Sharjah during first week of Ramadan’

Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department Organizes 11,110 Lectures and Sessions During First Week of Ramadan

Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department has announced that it conducted a total of 11,110 lessons and lectures during the first week of Ramadan at mosques across the emirate. In addition to these, 32 lectures were held at various governmental institutions, departments, and bodies, along with 14 virtual sessions on different social media platforms.

The Fatwa Centre received more than 900 inquiries and fatwas from the public through the toll-free number 8001441. One of the highlights of the department’s Ramadan initiative was a special Ramadan night dedicated to women.

Abdullah Khalifa Yaroof Al Sebusi, Chairman of Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department, highlighted the inclusive nature of the Ramadan programme, which reached all cities within the emirate. This initiative showcases the significant role of Ramadan in the Muslim community.

The lessons and lectures focused on explaining the fundamental principles of Ramadan, as well as key aspects of fasting jurisprudence. The department also provided lessons on interpreting the Holy Quran, deciphering the meanings of its vocabulary, and clarifying its rulings, orders, and directives.

Furthermore, the department organized awareness lectures to encourage the public to participate in charitable work and understand the importance of charity. Specific mosques were designated to cater to non-Arab communities, offering lessons in English, Urdu, and Malaybari during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Overall, the efforts of Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department during Ramadan aim to educate and engage the community in spiritual and charitable activities, emphasizing the values of the holy month.
