ABU DHABI, 10th March, 2022 (WAM) — Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Arab Youth Centre, the centre will host the “Arab Youth Meeting for Young Leaders” from 28th to 30th March, 2022, at Expo 2020 Dubai, coinciding with the World Government Summit.

The meeting will be attended by more than 20 Arab ministers and 35 leaders of youth empowerment establishments in the Arab region and 55 young directors-general and CEOs, 110 young scholars from government authorities, officials from relevant regional and international organisations, and decision-makers in youth empowerment.

The meeting will discuss the ambitions of the youth, available opportunities, and drafting initiatives and strategies that will empower young talents locally, regionally and internationally in development, innovation and intellectual interactions.

The meeting will comprise a ministerial session, a session for discussing the best youth policies, and several sessions that will address the topic of youth empowerment in the process of development while the event’s crucial pillars will address Arab youth strategies, Arab partnerships, action sessions, Arab youth meetings, and Arab youth reports.

Under this framework, Shamma Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Chair of the Emirates Youth Councils and Vice Chair of the Arab Youth Centre, said that since its inception, the World Government Summit has prioritised youth empowerment and engagement, noting that investing in young talents is a major pillar of the summit.

“We have ensured that the youth are the core of the summit’s discussion, in order to share their aspirations and visions with decision-makers and officials from governments and institutions,” she added.

Saeed Al Nazari, Director-General of the Federal Youth Authority and CEO of Strategy at the Arab Youth Centre, said the centre will organise introductory meetings for all participants on 11th and 12th March via video conferencing, to discuss the ideas of the youth and present them to heads of youth action organisations, to turn them into practical steps to serve the youth empowerment process.

The Arab Youth Meeting for Young Leaders was coordinated in partnership with the World Government Summit, to give Arab youth the opportunity to interact with decision-makers and officials, and to be active on this global platform. It is the largest gathering of young government leaders across the Arab world that serves as an umbrella platform for exclusive discussions aimed at addressing the issues facing Arab youth.

The Meeting explores ways of empowering young Arabs, broadening their horizons, stepping up their contribution to development, and enhancing their role in shaping the future of the Arab world.

Initiative goals include: uniting efforts to support youth in the Arab world; developing a common agenda dedicated to Arab youth; launching regional initiatives for Arab youth in the areas of job opportunities, entrepreneurship, research, etc; assisting Arab governments in supporting youth potential to benefit societies and economies.
