Celebrating the UAE’s 53rd Eid Al Etihad: A Tribute from the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation

On the occasion of the UAE’s 53rd Eid Al Etihad, known as Union Day, His Excellency Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), extended heartfelt congratulations to the leadership of the United Arab Emirates. His warm wishes were directed toward His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai; fellow members of the Supreme Council; the Rulers of the Emirates; Crown Princes; and to the people and residents of the nation.

In his articulated message of purpose and pride, Bin Sulayem noted that “Union Day is a celebration of pride and honor, marking the remarkable achievements of the UAE’s union, which has established itself as a global role model in civilization and development.” He underscored the commitment of the PCFC to the vision outlined by the nation’s wise leadership, reaffirming their dedication to the continuous advancement of the UAE across all sectors. This pledge to loyalty and service reflects the deeply rooted values held by the UAE’s citizens toward their country and its leadership.

The event reflecting the UAE’s spirit of unity was marked by vibrant celebrations organized by the PCFC. Attendees included dignitaries such as His Excellency Nasser Al Neyadi, the CEO of the PCFC, and His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, alongside executive directors and various employees from the organization.

During his remarks at the event, Nasser Al Neyadi emphasized the importance of Union Day as a pivotal moment to honor the vision and legacies of the nation’s founding fathers, namely the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. These iconic leaders laid a solid foundation for a modern state that has ascended to international prominence for its innovation, trade, and environmental sustainability.

The celebrations were rich with cultural expressions, featuring a vibrant performance by children from the Al Shorouq Nursery who delivered a heartfelt musical presentation. This imaginative display of patriotism highlighted the younger generation’s love for their homeland. Furthermore, traditional entertainment was provided by a Harbiya band, which performed in celebration of the UAE’s rich cultural heritage.

In addition to the lively performances, the Union Day event offered a plethora of interactive activities designed to engage attendees with Emirati traditions and customs. Guests participated in cultural competitions with rewarding prizes, had the opportunity to explore a heritage village showcasing traditional Emirati practices such as the serving of Arabic coffee, and were treated to various handmade items and crafts. A vintage-style store, offering traditional sweets, pottery workshops, and demonstrations of Talli (hand embroidery), added an engaging dimension to the cultural experience.

As the day progressed, attendees expressed their deep gratitude for the visionary leadership that has propelled the UAE to its esteemed status on the global stage. Individuals voiced their renewed commitment to contributing positively to the nation’s success, attesting to their collective desire to uphold and promote the values and objectives envisioned by the nation’s founders. Furthermore, these expressions of loyalty underscored the significance of unity and collaboration in continuing to drive the UAE toward its ambitious future.

In reflecting on the progress that the UAE has achieved since its establishment, Union Day serves as a continual reminder of the resilience and determination that define the nation’s character. It invites all citizens and residents to unite, honoring their shared identity and collective aspirations while celebrating the rich tapestry of culture and heritage that binds them.

The UAE’s 53rd Union Day encapsulated a vital moment in the nation’s narrative—a celebration not merely of past achievements but also a renewed commitment to future endeavors, echoing a promise of prosperity and innovation for generations to come.
