The UAE humanitarian team is actively carrying out its Ramadan program in the Chadian city of Amdjarass, providing aid to Sudanese refugees and the local community. The team, which includes the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, is assessing the needs of residents in nearby villages and towns, and delivering essential humanitarian assistance in cooperation with the UAE Aid Coordination Office in Chad.

In line with their Ramadan campaign, the team has distributed 6,000 food baskets, 500 relief bags, and living supplies to various villages in Amdjarass. The food baskets contain staple items like rice, flour, sugar, oils, grains, baby milk, dates, and other necessary family provisions. Meanwhile, the relief bags include kitchen utensils, household equipment, carpets, and other essential living materials to help families meet their daily needs.

Mohammed Idris, Director of the Amdjarass Municipality, commended the UAE’s continuous support to Sudanese refugees and the local community in Chad. He expressed appreciation for the distribution of food baskets, relief bags, and essential supplies to the surrounding villages and towns, emphasizing the positive impact on residents.

Dr. Salem Al Ameri, Head of the UAE Field Hospital in Chad, reported that since its establishment on July 9, 2023, the hospital has treated approximately 20,000 patients, including men, women, and children from Sudanese refugees and the local community. The hospital continues to operate throughout Ramadan, providing medical assistance to Sudanese individuals affected by the current situation in their country and helping to address the humanitarian challenges arising from the refugee influx in Chad.
