SHARJAH, 7th July, 2022 (WAM) — Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, inaugurated on Wednesday the second phase of the facilities affiliated with the Punishment and Correctional Institution Department (PCID).

The move is in line with the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to the Sharjah Police.

The inauguration began with a tour of the new building, reviewing the institution’s inmates’ residence areas, and the services it contains, including clinics equipped with the best medical equipment, services for delivering documents for released inmates, services for providing food supplies to inmates, and issuing bank cards for inmates.

The Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police was also briefed on the highly efficient security and digital systems, the central operations room, and the mechanisms used to transport inmates, in addition to the Al Amal vehicle, which is concerned with transporting sick inmates and the elderly to health authorities.

After his tour, Al Shamsi stressed that the responsibility of the Sharjah Police towards taking care of the rights of the institution’s inmates is great, and that the services provided are nothing but a reflection of the noble humanitarian values and principles of the UAE towards individuals, without regard to their nationality, religion or race.

He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Ruler of Sharjah for his continuous interest and support for the Sharjah Police.
