Malafi, the first innovative health information exchange platform in the region and one of the strategic initiatives of the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, announced a remarkable achievement of linking one billion medical records from seven million patients in Abu Dhabi in just three and a half years , noting that the Malafi system It now connects almost 100% of the health facilities in Abu Dhabi with more than 47,000 authorized users (doctors, nurses and paramedics) in 2,347 public and private health institutions throughout the emirate.

In detail, Abu Dhabi’s health information exchange platform “My File” is the first system of its kind in the region to exchange health information, which securely connects public and private health institutions in Abu Dhabi for the purpose of exchanging important health information between health providers in real time. The Malafi platform is managed by Abu Dhabi Health Data Services Company, which was established under a public-private partnership between the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and Injazat Company. The platform is part of the department’s strategic priorities, and an essential element in the digital transformation of the health system in Abu Dhabi.

Malfi confirmed its merit as one of the most prominent pillars of the digital transformation of the health system in the emirate,” noting that this achievement supports the mission of ensuring the safe and secure exchange of patient health information to improve the quality of health. care services and patient outcomes in the emirate.

He added: “The (Malafi) platform also launched earlier this month (the patient’s medical risk factor file) as a new feature that gives all licensed doctors access to the platform and the ability to predict a person’s future risk of developing certain chronic conditions diseases, or the possibility of him being exposed to a serious health emergency based on artificial intelligence techniques that support the delivery of preventive care services and the platform is expected to achieve more extraordinary results in the coming months in line with its plan to expand its range of products and the functions it provides.” “Malfa” enables doctors and specialists from healthcare teams to access the most important medical information about them, saving the time and trouble of transferring medical records for previous visits or repeated examinations, and helping to provide healthcare services according to the highest levels of efficiency and effectiveness in all health facilities in the Emirate. The platform has 559 million medical records such as patient visits, patient health status, allergies, medical procedures the patient underwent, test results, radiology reports and medications.

The Malafi platform has become a central database for real-time public health information that enables the monitoring of syndromes and the management of chronic diseases by identifying the risk of disease spread and combating epidemics, enabling the government to develop plans for a medical response in order to maintain public health and safety while the “Malfi” system will operate. “My file” in the future, with the help of artificial intelligence and machine learning, will significantly reduce the aggravation of diseases and improve healthcare to increase the quality of life.
