‘Digital School’ cooperates with strategic partners to expand its students’ reach globally

DUBAI, 15th February, 2023 (WAM) – The Digital School, which is one of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s global initiatives, has recently announced a number of strategic initiatives and partnerships aimed at advancing its vision of leading the future of digital learning and enabling students from all communities to create a better future.

The Digital School has signed two important agreements. The first is with the Human Aid and Development (HAND) organisation to implement and support a digital education project for Syrian refugees in Lebanon for a period of three years. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Abdel Qader Al Sankari. The second agreement is with the Fatima bint Mohamed Bin Zayed Initiative, with whom the Digital School will collaborate on digital education programmes.

The announcement was made during the “Digital School Dialogues” at the World Government Summit 2023. The purpose of the dialogues was to engage with partners, highlight the importance of digital education and showcase the Digital School’s achievements in providing educational opportunities for all through the implementation of advanced technology solutions.

The meeting was attended by Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Digital School and Managing Director of the World Government Summit Organisation. Also in attendance were Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), Hamoud Abdullah Al Junaibi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent, Dr. Abdul Qadir Al Sankari, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Humanitarian Aid Society, and Farshid Jabbarkhel, Director-General of Sheikha Fatima bint Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Project (FBMI).

Al Olama stressed the importance of promoting new partnerships to enhance the pivotal role of the Digital School as a platform to provide advanced digital education solutions to students around the world. He added that providing learning and knowledge sources for the new generations is a key to enable them to actively participate in the development of societies and ensure building the best future. He commended the partners tremendous efforts and work to support the goals of the Digital School, stressing that they all share the same visions and values.

For his part, Al Mazrouei stated, “The ERC appreciates partnerships that embody its vision of uniting efforts in order to advance the education process in countries and regions that face humanitarian crises and development challenges in this field, which in turns confirms its constant seek to innovate solutions that make education available to all regardless of their circumstances and despite crises and emergencies, believing in the importance of education in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.”

Dr. Al Sankari commented, “Investment in education is the most important developmental investment because its impact is sustainable. Furthermore, in line with the global era we live now, we must employ modern technologies to achieve the greatest impact and enhance cooperation with the digital school and FBMI”.

For his part, Farshid Jabbarkhel, said, “We are proud to sign this strategic partnership, which is an important step towards providing education,” adding that “We have developed an implementation model that fits local and international requirements, and we seek to advance the social services provided to FBMI’s employees and their families.”

The Digital School provides professional development programmes for all teachers, offer support, train them on management systems and tools, the educational model, the design of learning activities, and the measurement and evaluation of models and tools.

The partnerships also include developing an experimental model to explore opportunities for using digital learning and to cooperate in implementing pilot projects in digital education with the aim of developing implementation mechanisms and solutions such as the environment, infrastructure, motivations and learning activities.
