DUBAI, 5th July, 2022 (WAM) — Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is preparing to launch its ‘Be Happy, Be Creative’ summer camp at Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, which will run from 19th – 28th July, promising children an experience of learning, fun and creativity with a package full of educational workshops and engaging and creative activities.

Throughout the days of the camp, children aged 7 – 12 will enjoy a unique journey in Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, which is rich in authenticity and Emirati heritage. Dubai Culture has prepared a creative programme that includes a range of artistic, educational and cultural workshops; tours of the neighbourhood; cinematic performances; puppet theatre; fun sports; and entertainment sessions.

Laila Abdulla Belhoush, Director of the summer camp project in Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, affirmed that this initiative comes within the framework of the Authority’s cultural responsibility to stimulate creativity and innovation among children and promote a culture of active participation from society members by integrating art and creativity within the spaces across Dubai. This contributes to the discovery and development of national talents, and the opportunity for children to invest their time optimally during their summer school vacation.

Belhoush added, “Dubai Culture believes in the importance of making culture accessible for everyone through extensive cultural events, museums and heritage sites that celebrate authentic national identity and the rich Emirati heritage as well as contribute to the consolidation of feelings of pride in community members. Through the summer camp in Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, we aim to highlight heritage sites to younger generations and keep Emirati cultural heritage present in the minds and hearts of young people, motivating them to be inspired by it to continue the path of development and prosperity in Dubai and the UAE.”

Camp activities are held daily from 9:00 to 12:00 in Events House No. 19 in Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood and include workshops and courses in Arabic from 19th – 21st July as well as others in English from 26th – 28th July. Registration can be done by emailing Heritage.Sites@dubaiculture.ae, or sending a WhatsApp message to +971505502528.
