The Dubai Police recently received three prestigious awards from the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy as part of the “Dubai Program for Excellence in Energy Demand Side Management.” This program recognizes exceptional efforts in promoting sustainable development in Dubai through responsible energy and water usage, circular economy practices, innovation, and environmental enhancement.

The awarded projects included the “Exemplary Maintenance Project,” which involved retrofitting Dubai Police buildings with energy-saving technologies; the “Exemplary Solar Project,” which utilized solar panels for clean energy; and the “Exemplary EV Fleet” program known as “i-Serve,” which converted service vehicles to eco-friendly options. These initiatives were led by the General Department of Logistics and the General Department of Transport and Rescue.

The awards were presented by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), at a ceremony held at the Four Seasons Jumeirah. Major General Ali Ghanem, Assistant Commandant for Community Happiness and Logistics at Dubai Police, highlighted the commitment of the force, under the guidance of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, to implementing projects that promote energy efficiency and sustainability in alignment with Dubai Government’s vision.

Ghanem emphasized the importance of the awards in recognizing Dubai Police’s dedication to the city’s “Energy Demand Management Strategy,” which aims to reduce energy and water consumption and build a more sustainable future. He praised the program for motivating institutions and individuals to work towards a 30% reduction in energy and water usage by 2030.

Additionally, Brigadier Juma Ahmad bin Darwish Al Falasi, Acting Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue at Dubai Police, reaffirmed the commitment to adopting environmentally friendly practices in the field of vehicles. He highlighted the success of the “i-Serve” electric vehicle project in transitioning service vehicles to eco-friendly alternatives, achieving a significant reduction in petrol service vehicles and supporting Dubai’s Sustainability initiative.

These awards reflect Dubai Police’s ongoing dedication to excellence in various fields, including energy management, and their commitment to contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future.
