by Dubaiforum

DUBAI, 19th February, 2023 (WAM) — Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) is participating in the 28th edition of Gulfood, the world’s largest food and beverage trade event, to showcase an array of products, services and investment opportunities.

DET’s participation at Gulfood 2023, held from 20-24 February at Dubai World Trade Centre, will further reinforce the pivotal role it plays in attracting manufacturers and foreign investors, specifically from the food and beverage sector, a key pillar of Dubai’s economy.

The exhibition, which has attracted more than 5,000 exhibitors representing 120 countries, also paves the way for local entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized companies to strengthen their relations and connect with international companies, buyers and vendors, government and trade delegations; as well as share experiences and knowledge on the growing F&B sector in Dubai.

DET is being represented at Gulfood 2023 by the Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC) and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Development (Dubai SME).

The efforts of both corporations combined will help facilitate the implementation of key components of the recently announced Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to double the size of the emirate’s economy in the next decade; transform Dubai into one of the world’s top three cities for business and tourism; double the volume of foreign trade through 400 additional cities on the foreign trade map; and accelerate the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises by supporting their capacity building and global expansion.

DET is keen to leverage Gulfood 2023 to highlights its vibrant trade, manufacturing and investment environment, in parallel with the drive to position Dubai as a global gastronomy hub.

During Gulfood 2023, the Dubai Economic Development Corporation will promote manufacturing services and exports in Dubai and enable buyers to communicate and coordinate with local companies, participate in panel sessions to enhance awareness of the sector, as well as seek to attract investments in the industrial sector. The Elite Buyers Club will host delegations including 343 buyers from several countries around the world.

Dubai SME will showcase Dubai’s entrepreneurial ecosystem with a focus on the F&B sector, highlights its projects and local emerging enterprises and their products and help SMEs to connect and network with international vendors with the goal of gaining access to new markets and opportunities, thereby contributing towards driving the growth of SMEs in the emirate, which represent 99 percent of the total private-sector companies operating in Dubai.
