Sharjah, 6th October /WAM/ Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, Head of the Ruler’s Office, this morning witnessed the launch of the accompanying international exhibitions, as part of the Sharjah Calligraphy Forum, at the Sharjah Art Museum.
The head of the Ruler’s office visited a group of three exhibitions, namely: Contemporary exhibitions, the exhibition of Islamic decoration “Hymn of Gold” and the exhibition of other cultures, and listened to detailed explanations of the works presented by the exhibitions, which reflected the development of the experience of to work on Arabic calligraphy by a large group of calligraphers and artists, and derived from the slogan of the forum in this session “Irtiqa”.
At the beginning of his tour, the head of the ruler’s office stopped at modern exhibitions that bring together a number of artists from the United Arab Emirates and other countries of the world, and presented their various paintings of installation work, video and the use of different materials such as canvas , wood, cardboard, painted wood and others.
Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi became familiar with the various works contained in the exhibition, which reflected the creativity of the participants by applying different techniques to serve their main ideas, showing the beauty of Arabic calligraphy and innovative works of art.
During his tour of the “Golden Hymn” exhibition, Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi reviewed the works submitted by the artists and learned what they symbolize and what Islamic decorative arts reflect, their different schools and the creativity and innovations of participants.
A number of artists from different countries participate in the exhibition, which illuminates the experience of the Islamic decorative arts, and the participants present the decorative arts of their countries in accordance with their development, each in its own environment and strive to show its. different projections and its vegetal, geometric and composite directions, in addition to the connotations of colors and ways of using it. Multiple, geometric frames, deduction and modification of forms, formulas, shapes and aesthetic, decorative and decorative innovations.
Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi concluded his tour by visiting the exhibition “Other Cultures”, which presents Arabic calligraphy with an international touch, through distinguished experiences of artists from different countries of the world who do not speak Arabic, united by the love of calligraphy, who excelled in his field, learning about its aesthetics and secrets.
The head of the office of His Highness the Sovereign was briefed on the works of the artists participating in the exhibition, who adopt different lines, and got acquainted with their submitted works, which varied between the use of cotton paper, black ink, colored paper, watercolor illustrations, gilding and others.
