DUBAI, 15th August 2020 (WAM) – Emirates Airlines has today signed a new codeshare agreement with Greek carrier AEGEAN, allowing customers to seamlessly continue to travel to eight points in Greece via Athens using a one-way ticket and a consistent baggage policy, and the eight destinations are: Kerkyra, Chania, Irakleion, Mykonos, Thira, Rhodes, Thessaloniki and Alexandropoulos.
Under the agreement, Aegean will also place its code on Emirates flights between Dubai and Athens, providing its customers with smooth flights to and through various Emirates destinations in Dubai.
From next October, Emirates and Aegean will expand their network covered by the codeshare agreement to cover eight other European regional destinations through Athens, including Bucharest, Romania, Belgrade, Serbia and Naples, Italy, in addition to Emirates flights to New York Newark from Athens and ” New York JFK” from Milan and Emirates Airlines currently serves Athens with 12 flights per week using Boeing 777 aircraft.
Emirates offers its customers comprehensive global connectivity across six continents thanks to codeshare agreements with 26 airline and two rail partners in addition to 110 Interline partners worldwide.
Aegean’s network covers 138 destinations in 44 countries (29 domestic destinations in Greece and 109 international destinations) The airline operates a fleet of 64 aircraft, including the new Airbus A320 and A321 neo models.
