ABU DHABI, 23 August / WAM / Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health visited Lulu Hypermarket in Capital Mall to see the application of its developed program “Healthy for Supermarkets”, formerly known as “Weqaya”.

This collaboration aims to facilitate the process of identifying healthy products with an easy and clear logo for consumers.Lulu Hypermarket is one of the largest food companies targeting a wide and diverse consumer segment of the Abu Dhabi community.

The addition of the “healthy” logo helps to identify healthy options during shopping, as foods with the “healthy” logo contain a low percentage of fat, less sugar and salt and a high fiber content compared to other foods of the same type The program reorders the store to highlight the opportunities for health by employing effective and sustainable marketing strategies.

The “Healthy” program works on the availability of healthy foods, facilitates their availability, highlights healthy food choices and attracts customers’ attention, as the program’s slogan “Healthy” is placed on the shelves of health products.

His Excellency Matar Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health, welcomed this collaboration with Lulu Hypermarket outlets, which support and serve the “Healthy” program and help it spread further in the emirate.

He said that the application of Lulu Hypermarket outlets to the “Healthy” program on healthy foods will contribute significantly to diversifying the healthy options available to the consumer segment in the emirate and raise awareness of the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and enable the individual to choose the best and thus achieve the desired strategic goal of the program, which is effective prevention to reduce Chronic diseases associated with unhealthy diets and high quality of life.

On his part, Abu Bakr TB, regional manager of Lulu Hypermarket for Abu Dhabi and Al Dhafra, said that the participation of Lulu stores is part of the group’s commitment to provide the best types of food to shoppers.

He added: “LuLu has always been a responsible retailer that puts the majority of its attention on customer convenience, and we have invested in a ‘health’ program to succeed with retailers to implement a change in healthier and sustainable shopping patterns.looks forward to expanding the initiative to a larger number of branches and continuing to improve consumer food patterns across all stores.

It is worth noting that the Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health signed a cooperation agreement with Lulu Hypermarket in 2018 to implement a health program on its healthy foods, and this cooperation has expanded to include the implementation of the “health program” in four outlets to date .
