DUBAI, September 10 / WAM/ The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and the World Green Economy Organization have announced that the theme of the eighth session of the World Green Economy Summit will be “Leading Climate Action through Cooperation: The Roadmap to Achieving Carbon Neutrality,” which a translation of the UAE’s vision to promote action, climate and strengthening partnerships and international efforts to achieve climate goals.
The summit, which will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, on September 28 and 29 at the Dubai World Trade Center, will discuss areas of joint cooperation and exchange of experience and knowledge between the concerned authorities and international and regional institutions from the two sectors, public and private sectors, to increase the momentum of climate initiatives and accelerate the transition to a green economy.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and President of the World Green Economy Organization, will hold a press conference on September 13 to reveal the details of this year’s edition of the summit, which focuses on four axes: energy, finance, food security and youth. With the participation of a group of officials, experts and specialists from all over the world.
The summit is being held this year in preparation for the twenty-seventh session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (COP27), which will be hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt next November, and the 20-eighth session of the conference, which will be hosted by the UAE next year .The most important international event on the climate action agenda and consolidates the leadership of the UAE and its efforts in climate action.
