As part of its effort to facilitate access to knowledge and provide library service recipients, whether students, researchers or readers, with access to other sources of knowledge around the world in various areas of interest, Dubai Culture expanded last March year the book’s lending. service in Dubai libraries The public in collaboration with “Overdrive” to make its knowledge material available in several forms, including electronic, audio and video clips.
According to Dubai Culture statistics, between March and May, its digital library attracted 1,500 users who enjoyed its rich content in both Arabic and English, with the number of loans during this period reaching 462 for knowledge material whose topics ranged from literary, entertainment and professional and academic and continuing education books. The authority encouraged all readers from all parts of society to participate in the membership of the public library and take advantage of this knowledge infrastructure available for reading and creativity.
This comprehensive digital knowledge platform currently delivers 3,788 books, distributed between e-books, audio and video clips, all of which are accessible to members of Dubai’s public libraries electronically via the website, public library applications and Libyan applications, and which are accessible via simple steps. Members can reserve 5 knowledge materials over a single period of 7 days for e-books and audio and 5 days for videos.
It is noteworthy that “Dubai Culture” manages the network of branches of the “Dubai Public Library”, which includes eight libraries for adults and seven for children, in addition to the digital library, multi-purpose halls and study halls, providing community members with sources of knowledge in in the light of efficient services and advanced technologies.
