DUBAI, JUNE 5 / WAM / University of Dubai has awarded three million dirhams for scientific research this year as part of its interest in scientific research and its role in community service, which is one of its key strategic objectives in the policy of the Ministry of Education, which emphasized the importance of allocating specific budgets for scientific research at universities and research centers in the country.
His Excellency Dr. Issa Al Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai, confirmed the university’s eagerness for scientific research and conducts many scientific studies in modern technological fields that serve society. He pointed out that the scientific research conducted by the university and its academic staff was published in prestigious international journals, and some of them received patents.
He explained that within the framework of its interest in scientific research, the University has established a number of laboratories and research centers, including the Space Laboratory, in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, the Power and Energy Center in collaboration with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and Electronic Security Center in collaboration with Dubai Electronic Security Center, Future Studies Center and Research and Management Consulting Center. The Free Zone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Leadership Laboratory are currently under construction.
For his part, Dr. Hussain Al-Ahmad, Vice President of Academic Affairs, that the amount awarded will fund research that will be selected from 16 research projects submitted by members of the academic staff, provided that 350,000 dirhams will be awarded for each research selected under for specific conditions and controls, including Being within the proposed research team an external academic professor from one of the most prestigious universities in the world.
He added that since the beginning of this year, the university has started receiving research projects which the members of the scientific staff intend to carry out and which are to be funded.
