ABU DHABI, July 1 / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Secretary General of the Arab Fund for Disasters and Crises, said that blood donation is one of the humanitarian duties to save the lives of others. to improve the strategic stockpile of blood units and their use for treatment and emergencies.
On the sidelines of the ceremony held by “Blood Bank Services” in the Abu Dhabi Department of Health to honor 46 permanent blood donors and 20 supporting bodies for the bank’s services, His Excellence emphasized the crucial role of donors in strengthening community and volunteer images, as well as supportive bodies in enriching the symbiotic relationship.
During the ceremony, which was held under his patronage and attended by His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed, President of the Ministry of Health – Abu Dhabi, His Excellency honored the blood donors and support bodies and praised the donors’ regular contribution to improving the lives of the sick and injured. and to commend these bodies and their role in providing supportive and secure health supplies that contribute to strengthening the health and safety of the Community.
His Excellency expressed his pride in the importance of the role of the Ministry of Health in Abu Dhabi and its affiliated institutions in mobilizing national action, supporting humanitarian initiatives and volunteering, and raising awareness of blood donation in line with international best practice.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Jamal Muhammad Al Kaabi, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Health – Abu Dhabi, Dr. Huda Khalfan Al Shamsi, Director of Blood Banking Services – Abu Dhabi, and a large number of participants and representatives of institutions supporting blood donation campaigns.
