ABU DHABI, 11th September/WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and His Excellency Aleksandar Vucic, President of the Friendly Republic of Serbia, discussed various aspects of joint cooperation between the two countries and promising opportunities for its development and diversification of its base to serve their mutual interests, in addition to a number of regional and international issues and developments of interest to the two countries.
This happened during a session of talks held by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan – at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi – with His Excellency Alexander Vucic, who started an official visit to the country today.
His Highness, the President of the State welcomed the Serbian President and the accompanying delegation to the UAE and looked forward to the visit to provide a qualitative boost to bilateral relations to open up new areas of cooperation between the two countries to meet the aspirations of their peoples and their . people for further progress, sustainable development and prosperity.
His Highness, the President of the State and the Serbian President reviewed the bilateral cooperation tracks in investment, economic and trade areas, in addition to science and technology, food security, agriculture, renewable energy, space travel and other aspects of cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides also dealt with a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
His Highness, the President of the State said that the UAE-Serbian relations are strong and in continuous development, pointing out that the areas of cooperation between the two countries are diverse, including many vital sectors, which today witnessed the signing of ten agreements on strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
His Excellency Aleksandar Vucic, for his part, expressed his pleasure to meet His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and expressed his thanks for the generous hospitality and good reception he received.
He referred to the support provided by the United Arab Emirates to his country, especially in difficult times, and emphasized his country’s interest in expanding the horizons of its relations with the country in light of the many opportunities and ingredients available for to strengthen them.
The two sides welcomed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement announced today by the United Arab Emirates and Serbia, stressing its importance in expanding the horizons of joint cooperation and investing in the various opportunities available to the two countries in many areas to achieve their mutual interests and fulfill the aspirations of their people for further development and prosperity.
The President of Serbia recorded a speech in the special VIP register at Qasr Al Watan, in which he expressed his pleasure to visit the United Arab Emirates and his pride in the friendly relations between the two countries and wished for further growth and development of these relations and the continued the country’s progress and prosperity.
The meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, HH Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council and Head of Abu Dhabi Executive Office, and HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser on Special Affairs at the Court of the President, Her Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of International Cooperation, Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, Her Excellency Maryam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Muhairi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and Her Excellency Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awwad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Counselor at the Presidential Court, Dr . Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Chief of Cyber Security of the UAE Government, Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Serbia and a number of senior officials.
The meeting was also attended by the delegation accompanying the Serbian president, which includes a number of ministers and senior officials.
