The year 2012 topped the period from 2003-2022, registering 3,161,573 pilgrims, while the year 2020 topped the list of 1,000 pilgrims, according to a survey conducted by the Emirates News Agency “WAM” for official data issued by the General Authority for Statistics in the Kingdom.

The total number of pilgrims over the past 20 years was spread over 24,868,360 pilgrims in the ten years between 2003-2012, at a rate of 60.7%, and around 16,053,514 pilgrims in the period 2013-2022, with a speed of 39.

The year 2011 was number two on the list of the most registered years for the number of pilgrims for 20 years, with 2,927,717 pilgrims, followed by 2010 with 2,789,399 pilgrims and 2019 with 2,489,406 pilgrims.

This year’s Hajj season marked the complete return of Hajj to all countries around the world, with the number of pilgrims reaching 899,353 pilgrims spread among 779,919 pilgrims from all countries of the world and 119,434 pilgrims from citizens and residents of the kingdom, according to what was recently announced by the Saudi statistical authority.

Data from the General Authority for Statistics in the Kingdom showed that the years that recorded the influx of more than 2.5 million pilgrims were in 2011 with 2,927,717 pilgrims and in 2010 with 2,789,399 pilgrims, while the number of seasons, who registered more than two million pilgrims and less than two and a half million pilgrims annually were 12 years old. And the seasons are less than two million pilgrims annually for 3 years, while the three years from 2020-2022 are among the list of less than one million pilgrims, with 899,353 pilgrims for the current year, and about 58,745 pilgrims for the year 2021, and in 2020 about a thousand pilgrims.

And the Saudi statistical authority stated in a report on its website that in the course of almost fifty years, starting from the year 1390 AH, it began to implement the Hajj statistical process in response to the needs of the recipients and to meet the requirements of many authorities involved. with Hajj’s work and notes that the authority is the only official statistical reference in the Kingdom and authorized Performs all types of statistics as required.
