PRAGUE, 25th November, 2022 (WAM) — Members of the UAE-EU Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Federal National Council (FNC), headed by Sarah Mohammed Falkinaz, Chairperson of the Group, met with the members of the UAE-Czech Parliamentary Friendship Committee, headed by Margita Balaštíková.

The meeting was also attended by Afraa Al Basty, FNC Assistant Secretary-General for Parliamentary Communication, several FNC members, and Jiří Slavík, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the UAE.

The meeting discussed the importance of strengthening the cooperation between the two parliaments, and ways of improving their parliamentary relations.

Czech exports to the UAE amounted to US$821 million while imports from the UAE were valued at US$337 million during the same period.

The meeting also highlighted the UAE’s achievements in women empowerment, most notably their parliamentary representation, as women account for 50 percent of seats in the FNC.
